I am an experienced teacher with an established track record, having been employed by a variety of music services and private students over the years, with many of my students going on to study music at Universities and Conservatoires, and work as professional musicians as well. I have taught many different ages; from 9 years old to OAP’s, and regardless of how seriously you would like to take playing music, I can guarantee satisfaction and progress in a fun and stimulating learning environment.

My Teaching Methods

My own teaching methodologies are based on my experiences studying with many world class musicians (which I still do, whenever possible). I take bass and guitar students from absolute beginner upwards, but also take more advanced students on other instruments as the musical concepts I teach are transferable to ANY instrument, as long as they have a certain amount of technical ability already.

The delivery method during lessons varies according to the interests and needs of each student. I ask any new student to bring whatever they are currently working on/learning/listening to for the first lesson. As each lesson is tailored to the individual, we will then use whatever you bring to initially as a starting point to develop you musically in the future.

Although the lessons are unique to each student, I believe there is a core musical knowledge base which everyone should have a grasp of, if they play an instrument. I try to feed this knowledge to the student via the music they connect with the most, and also use music they already like as a starting point to expand the variety of music they listen to.
